Frequently asked questions

Yes — provide updated registration and proof of ownership. For account-linked tags our team will help update vehicle associations and ensure billing continuity.

Report theft to local Gardaí if appropriate and to our support team. We suspend the old tag if possible and issue a replacement after verification.

Replacement fees do not automatically cover unpaid tolls. We can advise on linking the replacement tag to settle outstanding charges or how to query invoices with the toll operator.

Irish regulations & compliance

In Ireland, using a valid eToll tag or paying alternative arrangements is essential to avoid fines and administrative charges — particularly on the M50. When replacing a tag we follow local requirements for identification, vehicle registration, and fraud prevention. For commercial fleets, we ensure tags are linked to the correct accounts to keep invoices clear.

  • Provide vehicle registration (VRM) and account reference where available
  • Notify us immediately for suspected tag misuse
  • For fleets: authorised account contact required for bulk replacements
